PBG: I need to make a payment on my account.
A: You would need to pay at the cashier window when they’re open or you can make a payment online for an instant confirmation.
PBG: I want to make my payment with you.
A: I can’t take you’re payment.
PBG: Why not?
A: Because you would need to make a payment at the cashier or online.
PBG: (rolls eyes) Well I have a special situation
A: Ok…
PBG: I need to make a payment now.
A: Well you can make the payment online where it will reflect your account immediately after you pay. You will just need to put in your credit card number online.
PBG: Well why can’t you take the payment?
A: I don’t have a credit card machine here, and if I did, it wouldn’t reflect right away on your account because we would have to enter it in your file. But regardless, payments must be made at the cashier window or online.
PBG: So you’re asking me to do it online?
A: Yes. (pause) You can make your payment online and it will have an instant confirmation on your account.
PBG: I don’t understand why you just can’t take the payment. (rolls eyes)
A: I can take your information, but it won’t be processed until the cashier is open. But if you want it to go through right away in your account you would need to make a payment online in order for it to post. If not, you would have to wait until the cashier is open. I do not have a credit card machine here at the front to run it through right away. You said you have a special situation. Do you need it to post right away?
PBG: Yes.
A: Then make the payment online because it will post right after you enter it. It is the fastest way for it to reflect on your account. I cannot take a payment at the front desk with an instant confirmation.
PBG: Fine. I guess I’ll just have to make the payment online then. (gives stink eye and walks out)
