confessions of a youth pastor's wife

the frustrations, joys, excitements, disappointments, and everything in between.

I never realized this before, but if God rested on the seventh day of creation, how much are we to rest? And I think to clarify, God didn’t just rest because it was convenient, but he rested because he finished the work he had been doing (Gen2:2)

I think it’s easy to fall into a pattern where people may “rest” out of convenience or from burning out. But what I think is important is that when we rest, it should be from finishing the task that God has given us.

“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” (Gen2:3)

I do feel that my life at this point, God is telling me to “rest” from being a core leader and the different ministries I was leading prior to having Aubrey. However in my time of resting, God is calling me to rest in His holiness. It is not just a break from doing the work of the Lord, but to refresh and reflect on all His goodness, and all the good work he did through me.

God is allowing me to rest, but resting where I am lavished by His presence and His word.

Thank you God for resting, and showing me the right way to do so. Love ya.
