confessions of a youth pastor's wife

the frustrations, joys, excitements, disappointments, and everything in between.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Ps. 73:26)

Dear God,

Thank you for being my God. I have been doing so much, except for spending time with you and I ask for your forgiveness. Lord, I am weak and very shorthanded, but Lord with you at my side I know I can do all things. Help me to find my rest in you and to delight in your presence. Help me not to run to ministry after ministry and forget who I am serving.

May you help me as I keep you as the center in my life. I want to reflect you to others and to have my life continually transformed. I am scared of change, but Lord you know all things. You know what is best for me. I want to rely on you more and to trust you with all of my heart. Help me to be the woman that seeks after your heart. Be the lover of my soul and let me delight in you.

I pray for different trials to come in order to strengthen my bond with you. Be with my family and help us to put you as the center. Help us to be good stewards with the gifts you have given us. Be with Jason as he leads the young people at CICC. Lord, we could not have passed this mark without your grace and provision. May you continue to lead him and have him listen to your voice. God bring revival in our lives every single day.

I pray that you will be with CICC and help the church to grow in maturity. I pray that people’s hearts will feel your presence and may you transforms the lives of your members. Lead us to you every day. May you be with the college ministry and help us build a good group. I pray for intimacy with each other as we grow intimately with you. I do not want to start a planning committee, but people who really strive after your heart. May you give us conviction when we fail, but hope to start on the next task you call us to. Be with the youth as they go to school and face different temptations and trials. I pray that they will allow the Holy Spirit to minister to them and to give them guidance. Let them continually be equipped with your word and be lavished in prayer.

May you be with the families of our church members and I pray that we build strong families in our church. I pray that they will fear you and trust upon your Spirit.

Lord, I want to lift up a special prayer to a family that I don’t know, but I know you do. I pray that you will be with the Sitton family as they deal with the horrible tragedy that happened this past November. Be with them and may you continue to show them your love. Continue to heal and comfort them with your peace. I don’t understand why evil is allowed, but Lord you are greater than any evil and I know you have a bigger plan. May you show that to them. I pray that the family will trust you especially as they might question you.

God, I feel your Spirit and Lord, I am so honored that you have given me your love and peace. May you be that for my high school friends: Christina, James, Ta, Wendy. May you also be the Lord and Savior for my cousin Stephen. I know he’s been going to church, but I pray that you really take him in your presence.

Lord, there is so much to pray about, and so much to give thanks. Lord continue to be with me and help me to be prayerful and trustful in you.

You are good to me and I love you.

In your wonderful, precious name.

Amen.
